About this coffee Bambito Estate is a storied, family-owned coffee farm in Panama’s high-altitude cloud forests. With its unique terroir, meticulous cultivation and processing practices, and deep community commitment, the estate produces coffees, especially its Geisha, that are not just rich in complexity but globally celebrated.
The Estate sits between two national parks and the plantation itself sits between 1,660 and 1,800m and crossed by two mountain ridges from east to west, creating two natural microclimates. These ridges protect our coffee trees from the summer north winds. We also have two water springs, which are the main source of water for our mill.
Priscilla (who, has a heart of gold) and the Amar Sittón family are truly committed to sustainability on the farm. They operate a greenhouse to preserve coffee genetics and maintain a young farm. Coffee by-products, such as pulp and mucilage, are repurposed as organic fertilizer, and two springs provide water for both the farm and processing.
A true part of their surrounding community, Bambito Estate supports the local community by providing year-round breakfasts to students and teachers at the nearby primary school and by employing local workers, especially during the harvest season.
