About this coffee The Amar Sittón family owns and operates the renowned Bambito Estate, a boutique 10-hectare coffee farm in Chiriquí, Panama. Led by siblings Priscilla Amar González and Rafael Amar, the estate has earned numerous Best of Panama awards over the years, solidifying its reputation for exceptional quality.

Nestled in an ideal location, Bambito Estate benefits from the natural protection of surrounding mountains, which shield the coffee trees from the strong summer winds. The north-facing slopes, where the coffee is planted, provide reduced direct sunlight, greater shade, and higher moisture levels—conditions that help the farm consistently produce the distinctive coffees for which it is celebrated. This Typica lot is cultivated at elevations between 1,632 and 1,821 meters above sea level, where cooler temperatures averaging 50–75°F slow the maturation of the cherries, allowing for the development of beautifully intricate and dynamic flavors.

Priscilla and her family have also made significant investments in sustainability. A greenhouse on the estate preserves the genetic integrity of their coffee varieties and helps maintain a young, thriving farm. By-products from coffee processing, such as pulp and mucilage, are repurposed as organic fertilizer, and two natural springs provide fresh water for both the farm and its processing facilities. Beyond their environmental initiatives, Bambito Estate supports the local community by providing daily breakfast year-round to all students and teachers at the local primary school and by employing as many local residents as possible, particularly during the harvest season.
